Bua Thai Restaurant Menai       chimo 04-08-2009

Food:

Excellent and authentic Thai cuisine. A group of six-eight of us eat here at least twice a month. Always look forward to going back!

Service:

Friendly and helpful, always.

Ambience:

Pretty ordinary Asian restaurant...to look at. Clean, bright and (usually) busy...but not overly noisy. There is enough space between tables. NO T.V.'s - YEAH!!!!!!

Overall:
Staff are friendly and helpful (I think I said that!). Food is quick to arrive and great value, good quality and yummy! BYO includes wine AND beer. We always request a small break between serves as we found the food arrives almost too quickly at times...great if you're in a hurry but we always like to spread the experience out. We often have meals prepared that used to be on the menu or ask the wait staff to suggest new things to try. We have NEVER had a bad experience there.

The restaurant is simple with a few tables but it is comfortable.

This is our favorite local Chinese takeaway and we have tried most of them around Quakers Hill. The food is worth going for and I am very fussy.

Service is ok but on busy days, it could stretch a little.

Ambience:

A simple Thai casual restaurant.

Tango Cafe' Restaurant Coogee       Diamond 28-11-2008

Food:

The seafood combination on the specials board is great, and the BBQ platter and risotto very tasty. For entrees, I can recommend the potato's and the baby octopus (sauce is the same base as the seafood combination).

Service:

Friendly service

Kafenes Greek Restaurant Enmore       Pete3 22-11-2008

Food:

I had some dips with pitta bread for starters.
We all enjoyed them and ordered some more.

Service:

Family run business and very friendly ladies served us.

Ambience:

There is inside and outside seating. We choose to sit outside at the quieter bit (where they usually serve the sweets and coffees) and they were happy to accommodate us.

Overall:
We all had a lovely night and enjoyed watching all the ppl rushing in and out the restaurant just before they went to the Enmore theatre. We would recommend it to everyone and we are certainly going to go back again.

Summit Restaurant & Orbit Lounge Bar Sydney       sarahlouise 11-11-2008

Food:

For starters I had the hiramasa kingfish & salmon which was sooo good I am still thinking about it. My boyfriend had the forest mushroom martini which he said is the only thing that has ever come close to his mums mushroom soup that is served at Christmas lunch and he looks forward to all year! For mains I had organic chicken fiorentina style which was superb, the boy had the twice cooked pork belly, which also received top marks! We were too full for desert but I tried a few cocktails, they all looked so good but I chose the coconutter and macchiato. The coconutter was kind of medicinal but I love coconut so I still liked it, the macchiato was really good. The wine list is very good and we had a pinot which was very nice.

Service:

From the moment you get there to the moment you leave you are made to feel very special. Staff are attentive and professional - they did not seem to miss a beat! Food came out in a timely manner and I really have no complaints at all.

Ambience:

It is a large space but feels intimate due to the tables being set quite apart and the low light.

Overall:
The views are AMAZING, service is impeccable and the food is probably some of the best I have ever had. Clearly, I do not have a bad word to say about this restaurant and would definitely recommend it for a special night out!

Bavarian Bier Cafe Manly       sarahlouise 11-11-2008

Food:

We went straight for mains and I had one of the Octoberfest specials that was the fish of the day served with boiled baby potatoes, sauerkraut and a creamy mustard sauce that went so well together. My partner had the Munich Brewers Platter (A large platter of Crackling Roast Pork Belly, Chargrilled Kassler, a selection of Sausages and Chicken Schnitzel served with Sauerkraut, Red Cabbage and Sebago Mash). It looked delicious!! He enjoyed it and struggled to finish it (but refused to leave until he did haha). While he was finishing his food, I spotted a blueberry cocktail on the drinks menu and ordered it! VERY YUMMY! We also had a couple of beers (not sure what but I got the impression that all were good and worth a try!).

Service:

We were walking past and decided to give it a try on a Sunday at lunch. They were very busy but made space for us at a table that was reserved for a group that had decided not to turn up. Service is fast, casual and friendly.

Ambience:

Located at Manly Wharf the view is amazing. You can see the kitchen and bar staff working as you sit and wait for your food while sampling the beer on offer.

Overall:
Great place to catch up with a group of friends for some wonderful beer and food or just a casual lunch with a partner. Staff are wonderful and know the food and drinks they are serving (Note: I am from Perth so staff that are nice and know what they are doing surprises me!). Highly recommend it!

42 Bannerman Trattoria Bar Glenhaven       hillsfoodie 29-10-2008

Food:

Food is amazing - really rustic and traditional. No conventional packaged boscaiola or garlic bread. Really interesting mixes - gnocchi with basil and mint, rolled beef with celeriac puree etc. Such good quality food. plus, you can see it being made so you know it is actually fresh and not yesterday's leftovers! Plus the menu changes every week so you can guarantee that it is always something different and new.

Service:

Service is excellent. Very attentive, friendly, feels like you're coming home. You literally feel like you're one of the family. They actually genuinely care about you and your experience.

Ambience:

Great little place... wood fireplace, traditional Italian music in the background, comfortable and simple settings.

Overall:
Absolutely love this place. We will come back every week because we know we'll get something fantastic and new. My husband and i love this place!!! Recommend it to everyone we know.
