Overall:
Haven't been to The Greek in years, but I'm glad that a friend and I got dinner there tonight.
We sat at a nice outside table, which unlike many places was actually stable and well attended to. As with many Norby restaurants, there's a slightly eccentric old man hovering about being amiable - some people don't like that kind of thing, but he doesn't overdo it.
Service was fast and friendly, and we were happy to see that the wait-people didn't even need to write our orders down, committing them to memory instead - helped keep the casual atmosphere. Water glasses were kept topped up most of the time - things got a bit dry for a while when they got busier though.
We came at the start of a busy period, but food came out fast enough - lemon lime and bitters and garlic bread (both very nice) came out quickly, and meals came out after a not-too-unreasonable delay - just enough to make you start to wonder. :)
The food was great. I had a 400g t-bone steak with vegies and a creamy mushroom sauce (which was divine). The vegies were great and the steak was delicious - only minor gripe was that I asked for it medium rare, and while most of it was, some parts were medium and others were rare - but it's hard to cook a large t-bone evenly. My friend had a vegie stack, with some very nice goat cheese on top.
We managed to fit in some dessert, and although they were both delicious and as much as we could eat, the cheesecake was perhaps a bit small for $8.50...
Prices are on the expensive side (considering the bevy of cheaper places in the vicinity), but well worth it in my opinion. Great place for a meal.
