Welcome to Picassos on Walcott

Picassos on Walcott

Located on the corner of Walcott & Curtis Streets in Mount Lawley, Picasso’s on Walcott is one of the most unique restaurants in Perth housed in a beautiful converted church. The decor has been recently updated with gorgeous chandeliers but still keeping a casual ambience with comfy sofas to relax in after dinner.

The delicious modern Australian cuisine includes mainly new dishes such as fennel & cumin spiced Timber Hill lamb rump rested on marjoram & celeriac lentils with a citrus mascarpone but we have kept an old favourite, the MYO crispy aromatic duck pancakes.

Picasso’s on Walcott caters for functions of up to 130 people seated or 200 for cocktails in the main restaurant. There is a also the Chapel Room on the mezzanine level which can seat 35 people for dinner, 70 standing or 74 for a wedding ceremony. We cater for many different functions:

- Weddings
- Special occasions eg birthdays

We have eaten here for breakfasts, dinner and attended a friends 40th birthday. All the food was great. The dinner was such a success- we were all sampling each others food! It was all so delicious.

Service:

Friendly and efficient. all requests for extra bits and pieces for young children in tow were happily arranged.

Ambience:

Great venue- felt right each time- whether we were there morning for breakfast or evening for a private function or dinner.

Overall:
Beautiful building, great food, friendly staff. Love the Duck pancakes.

Food:

We recently had a small function at Picassos a set menu for 40 people, to start we had skewers of marinated chicken and beef and prawn cocktails in shot classes. The skewers were so tender and the prawn cocktails were delicious all my guests were amazed. Then we had the most wonderful selection of seafood starting with chili mussels, fresh oysters and a salt and pepper squid that was so tasty my guests were asking for more. We then had a whole snapper cooked to perfection for each table followed by a fantastic sorbet made by chef. The main meal was a choice of the best duck we have ever tasted or beef which was tender and cooked to perfection all served with fresh vegies and salad. Finally semi fredo for desert left all happy

Service:

The service was great the time between meals was just right, and our glasses were always topped up. The staff were friendly and accommodating. No complaints

Ambience:

We had lovely soft music, the restaurant manager set a section for the teenagers to relax in a lounge area but they were still part of the family and also a small section with games for the toddlers to play so all mums could relax and enjoy the event. The management thought of everything.

Overall:
Overall my whole family were made to feel welcome the teenagers were looked after the toddlers were looked after its not easy if the restaurant does not accommodate children. The food was spectacular our family dining experience was one we will never forget. Thank you Picasso's we will be back.

Food:

The food was scrumptious and just the right size serving. The Chef's taster was a delightful and wonderfully surprising treat. For starters we had duck pancakes and oysters 'special' (natural with tomato and basil), a tough selection from the creative options. For mains, mushroom and nut risotto and linguine with seafood.

Service:

The staff were diligent but not out-of-their way friendly, and quite young. No complaints though.

Ambience:

Exquisite. A lot of character with interesting vibes. How does a new restaurant get a whole floor of very comfy [old weathered] chairs matching with the carpet? Which comes first; the chairs or the decor?? I know huh!!!

Overall:
A very pleasant experience and one we will enjoy again soon.
