Food:

My partner and I shared the chilli marinated calamari for entree, which was shallow fried and served with a light salad and aoili. It was perfect, very tender and tasty. For mains I had the rack of lamb, and my partner the veal scallopine with prawns. Both were excellent, the spinach and pine nut stuffing in the lamb rack was delicious, and the veal was very tender and the accompanying sauce perfect. Side serve of steamed vegetables for $7 and bread w/olive oil for $3 were very reasonable.

Service:

Very attentive, without being intrusive. There were a few younger members who lacked the experience of the older staff, but that is to be expected

Ambience:

Large tables, with plenty of room to move and comfortable decor. The older house-style restaurants are usually very easy to dine and relax in. The lack of music was different, but worked.

Overall:
Had high expectations, and they were very well met. Had a fantastic meal with a great selection of wine, and would highly recommend Julio's to anyone looking for a quality night out with not excessive prices.

Food:

The food was nice but overpriced for the standard.

Service:

The service was atrocious. The waiter brought a wet, dripping jug of tepid tap water to our table, dripped it all over my clothing, the menu and then laughed! We had to practially beg for everything. Our wine didn't arrive till after the entree and then only after we reminded the 3rd waiter.

Ambience:

We booked well in advance asking for a "quiet, intimate, romantic table for our wedding anniversary". We were seated in a door way between 2 rooms next to a table of 14 very loud customers. We asked to be moved and watched 2 tables become free. We were not moved despite being told we would be.

Overall:
This restaurant was truly the worst dining expereince of my life. I resented having to pay for it. My husband and I expected a lovely night out for our anniversary and instead found ourselves trapped in a sketch from Fawlty Towers. I expected Manuel to appear any second. Don't bother with Julios - go somewhere cheaper as the food is certainly not worth the price and you don't need to be treated this badly! We left and went to a local coffee shop for dessert. It was far better!

We had our wedding anniversary dinner here and had a lovely evening. The service was faultless, they were prompt, polite and unobtrusive. The food was fantastic we had bruschetta to begin with which was lovely, then for entrée I had penne aribiatta (sorry about spelling) which had some spice and very tasty although not the best I've had was very good. My husband had the deep fried camembert which was very good. For Mains I had the lamb rack which was the stand out it just melted in your mouth. My husband had the sirloin steak which was also good. Not cheap but great for a special occasion

What a wonderful meal. Attention to detail regarding staff, presentation and culinary substance was superb. The ambience was lovely and very welcoming despite not having booked prior to arriving. The menu was extensive and our choices cooked to perfection. Italian at its best - certainly the best I've had in the 20 months I've lived in Perth.
