Food:

I've been here several times, and the food is excellent. If you're new to vegetarian food, try the sizzling lamb or one of the 'chicken' dishes. The faux meats aren't made of tofu...this is what scares some people away! They are made of a mix of vegetable proteins and fibres, with natural flavours to give the taste of meat.
If you're a vegetarian, this place will be heaven for you! Apart from a few fried dishes like the honey 'chicken', everything is fresh, healthy and delicious. The only dish I've had that I wouldn't have again (but even then, it wasn't bad) was a dish with asparagus and faux scallops, I think. The bubble teas are also good, and come in huge beer mugs. The only complaint is that they are too sweet. Make sure to ask 4 sago!

Service:

The ordering service is a bit different. You fill in an order form yourself (each dish has a code, like G5, etc)then pay at the counter. This is actually really great for groups, as each person can hand in a different slip of paper and pay separately, without calculating how to split the bill.

Ambience:

At first it's a bit distracting to have the huge screens playing asian karaoke music, but by the end you end up loving it! There is always plenty of space to choose where to sit, and a help-yourself bar for green tea, chilli sauces, chopsticks, etc which is fun. Comfortable, clean & beautiful.

Overall:
I come here regularly, because the food is consistently good and the help-yourself nature of it is great without waiters hovering all over you waiting for you to order! They also have beautiful cakes (although I've never had any and am not sure if they're vegan). A great place to come with friends, from young kids to the not-so young.Note that the entrance is via a staircase, so wheelchairs and unfoldable prams will present problems.

Overall:
Formosa/utopia is a very nice place to sit down and chat with friends and get some karaoke actions in the private room. I regularly go there to get my dosage of bubble tea.

Not until recently that we actually eat here. The menu here looks somewhat similar to your Asian cuisines but with tofu. I know this sounds bad but the foods are amazing.

If you're not accustomed to dining at Formosa then here are some tips. Once you there, grab the menu, an ordering sheet and a pen, then find yourself a nice table. Basically, this is a self-service kind of place. Once you're ready, take your order sheet to the counter and pay for it there.

Today I took my mum and sister's family out for dinner. Mum was really impressed with the presentation of the food. The atmosphere is somewhat interesting but nice with Chinese pop music in the background and dimmed lighting.

The food look great, smell great and surprisingly tastes great too. We ordered crispy chilli chicken, prawn with cashew nuts, tom yum soup and hokkien noodle. We all love the chicken and tom yum dish. I would never think that tofu could tastes so good.

Overall, we really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. This was a memorable dinning experience and I’m sure we will talk about it for the next few weeks.

There were 5 of us including my niece; the total bill with drinks comes to $60.
