Welcome to Ball & Chain Grill

The Ball & Chain Grill has been one of our favourite restaurants in Hobart for many years. However, after our most recent visit last Saturday night I regret it is no longer one of our top places to recommend. Firstly we could not make a booking???? There were 4 of us and they said to come back half an hour later which we did and then had to wait a further 45 minutes for a table. A crazy system that left many people annoyed or actually they left.

Salad bar and desserts were excellent. We all ordered steaks. One of the four steaks was good - the others were tough -two were porterhouse and were cooked to different requirements, and the other was a rump.

Service was quite good after the initial wait to get in. Pleasant and helpful staff.

It is in a lovely area of Salamanca and the building has lots of character.
